Keeping a cat and being a cat lover (many like to call themselves “Cat Slave”), you would be willing to give up your limited space at home for your cat, such as a bookcase to be replaced by a cat tree, a cat house on a windowsill and under a coffee table, as well as a cat litter box in your narrow washroom. Moreover, some designers who love cats create a series of simple and stylish cat furniture by observing and following cats’ habits and preferences. These are some good designs for both human and cats, occupying limited space and adding some fun and joy to your daily life.
Kittyloft
Cats are a good jumper and always prefer higher spots to overlook their kingdom. Adopting this idea, the Kittyloft designed by Uhuru Designs is a skywalk for your cat which built on the upper zone of walls above the door.
Working Space for Human and Cats
If the apartment is lack of space, install a multi-functional bookcase on wall with varied composition of blocks and the bottom layer extended as your working desk. Cats would love to jump up and down or make themselves part of your interior when they choose to sit inside the “Cat Frame”. Yet, they may still choose to sit on your file or keyboard as they like.
Cat Library
Most writers or book lovers also love cats such as Ernest Hemingway. The Cat Library, a cat-friendly modular bookshelf combined with square and L-shaped cabinets, is suitable for that people and their cats. Heading along the Cat Stair built with L-shaped cabinets from the floor to the upper corner of the shelf, your cats would sleep well in the cat shelter.
Cat Tunnel Sofa
A lot of cat lovers treat their cat as child because of its lovable and playful character with strong curiosity. Living under one roof, great ideas can blend yours and your cat’s furniture as one that’s why Seungji Mun designed a “Cat Tunnel Sofa” which combined with a cat tunnel and a couch. The cat tunnel as the backrest is assembled by three sections of pipes, plus inner plush and sofa textile on the surface. Besides the entrances on both end, it has a window in the middle of the tunnel for cats to peep or play hide and seek with you.
A series of CATable
Here are some cat behaviors make you confuse, for example, they prefer boxes rather than a cozy bed, or occupy your keyboard to make sure your job cannot be done. These may lead designers of LYCS Architecture to create the CATable 1.0 and 2.0, which are both cat-friendly furniture with organic design for a stylish home.
CATable 1.0 is a table for us, and a paradise with random holes and tunnels for curious cats to explore that make your work efficiently within limited time.
CATable 2.0 is transformed from CATable 1.0 to wooden boxes with streamline holes. Its function is yet to define as a magazine shelf or coffee table or others whatever you like. Of course, don’t forget to reserve a few holes for your cats.
The Ball, The Cube and The Bed
When cats need a nap, they may prefer a cozy bed rather than boxes. Meyou designed three cat shelters with simple geometric shape: The Ball, The Cube and The Bed. The first two set a sphere shelter on floor with either a beech rack or a cube frame. The shelter contains a soft cotton cushion inside and is made of high quality linen material which is good for cat scratching. A hump outlines shelter, The Bed, has an elegant look with wool felt and beech wooden stand.
Cat Cabinet
Cats really need privacy while using toilet. This Cat Cabinet can be placed a cat litter box, with multi-size circle windows for them to get in and out or peek through for security. Also, hiding the litter box in the closed cabinet, it is just another usual cabinet for you to place your sundries on the top.
